NTLA Mission and Goals
The National Tribal Land Association started as a vision of what Indian Country could become if those individuals working for tribes in a land-related position had opportunities to come together for learning, sharing, collaborating and networking with one another. As we continue to grow, our mission and goals stand true to the needs of tribal land professionals.
Misson: Create unity in Indian Country for tribal land professionals and be a voice for the protection of Indian lands.
Goals: The goals of the association are: education; outreach; networking; and unity.
- Education: Raise the capacity and expertise of all tribal land staff with training offered regionally and at the annual Tribal Land Staff National Conference and develop a tribal land staff certification program.
- Outreach: Share information and communicate with non-NTLA organizations and individuals that are important to NTLA issues and goals. This may result in partnerships and relationships that support NTLA development and objectives.
- Networking: Create opportunities and vehicles for tribal land staff to meet, support each other and network on issues of significance to their tribal lands work.
- Unity: Work together on issues of significance to the tribal land staff community as a whole. These issues may include regional or national issues on which the expertise of NTLA members can have a significant impact.
