Register for Tribal Land Office Professionals certification course
'Land Acquisition I' is an online course that serves as an introduction to tribal land acquisitions, exploring such topics as land appraisals, record keeping, fee-to-trust, negotiations and the environment. Students will also receive a brief history of Native land issues. Students completing this course will demonstrate a basic understanding of tribal land acquisition, as well as how their specific tribal history fits within the broader context of Native land tenure history. This course is part of the Tribal Land Office Professionals Certification Program, a total of 12 courses that are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of tribal land staff throughout Indian Country.
How long does the course take to complete?
This self-paced, online course takes approximately 8 hours to complete. The course ends on July 6, 2018 but may be completed before then.
What is involved?
There is a required pre-test followed by multiple learning modules. Each module provides reading material and instructional videos. Once all of the modules have been completed, there is a required post-test.
Will students receive a certificate?
Students who successfully finish the course will receive a certificate of completion from United Tribes Technical College.
How to register
Students should register using the CEU Admission/Registration. Forms should be submitted by e-mail to Nichlas Emmons (email@example.com) at the National Tribal Land Association. Once the registration form and payment has been received, students will get an e-mail with instructions on how to complete the enrollment process.
